Kneeling
By the Sea
Peering
into the water, foamy waves leaping high,
I sat there peering; almost fearing I might see thee nigh,
‘Twas not so long ago, I left thee here, full of cheer,
After we vowed, promised aloud, to be together here.
I went out
to sea, to sail the ship out to bay,
When I returned, I was stunned, knew not what to say,
As I found upon the ground, our prints so tenderly,
Before the tide swiftly caught you and took you out to sea,
So I kneel
here near our spot, though its been long ago,
I whisper softly to stars, tall and lofty, while the wind doth softly
blow,
True love we shared, our souls we bared on that moonlit night,
We vowed to be together now and forever, now a lonely sight.
If you’re
in the sea come to me, my soul will go back with you,
I am grieved, so bereaved; I know not what to do,
Comfort ‘twould be far less I do confess, to let me linger on,
For in the sea, just you and me is where I belong.
So I shall
kneel on still, Praying you will come back to me,
Tho it should be dark as night, Ill see the light when I see thee,
So twain we’ll be ‘til eternity, in Heaven there above,
I shall wait here for you my dear, my own true love.
