A New Year To Plan
It’s a New Year, to nobly- plan... in mind and deed... See-n’ our men can come home again, toss guns- freed. They've touch’d on this thought... many a time a-fore... Whilst wait-n’ patiently... in the sand on another shore... ‘Tis no small sacrifice to leave home... and go to a piteous place Sand and sun… with human there… dull of grace. Look- cross the sea; faces all look-n drawn... and fraught... Look’d to Uncle Sam… but perish’d the thought. But ‘tis a new year... many things come to mind... The enemy… in a pit... really stoop’d… and blind.
Some of our men perish’d ... surrounded by perfidious pitch. Enemy hiding their dead in hand-made... gruesome ditch... It’s a brand new year; many things men can change... They canst win... then mayst come to America’s range Whence we walk upright and righteous in their sight... Being they mayst come home... with no more fight. Lives lost… touch’d our heart... hence we walk into a new year. Let us go fourth, with new beginnings and cheer. Let us make resolutions with faith and hope to truly be A people of faith... in our God... unto whom we trust our liberty
